追索的說辭

繪畫的從事往往具有一定的區域,創作者於該區域內進行專業的構製,並結果出一繪製物,這其中完成了某些內容的堆疊,並供以審視。

於苗栗頭份製作作品期間,尋覓了一些有趣的塊狀物體,這些被切除並棄置的角材因其厚度與長度讓人若有所思,經過仔細的打磨後,將香菸盒與鋁箔包上所擁有的示意線條(像是描繪某物而拉出的線段)繪於那些塊狀物體上,原有的塊狀物屬性仍在、木料角材的物質屬性仍在,因而塊狀物便介於那可不可以轉換身份看待的矛盾情節之中。

位於三合院前方擁有籃球架的廣場,包圍他的矮圍牆與矮柵門便將它形塑為明白的區域內狀態(被劃定的),然而你無法掌控內部的活動情況,矮圍牆與矮柵門造成的川流狀態是明顯的,比如昨日尚沒有看見,今日卻出現的曬乾中藥植物,或是下午一群嬉戲的小孩。

將所製作的塊狀物置入廣場之中並拉出區隔的線條,廣場便是一個繪畫構製的底層,然而創作者此時能掌控之處也僅止於此,拋入某些個內容,並拉出線段與廣場中的其他事物相區隔,並宣稱這是「我的作品」,然而卻也不能控制除此之外其他事物的介入,甚至無法保全該些置入的塊狀物是否遭致移除,其中無須清楚去辨悉的即是,什麼是純然的我自身,什麼是其它。


Ideas in Reminiscing

The operation of painting always takes place within a particular area. The creator carries out professional construction within that area, and a painted object is the outcome left to be observed. Contributing to the outcome is the accomplishment of the overlaying of certain contents.

When making this work in Miaoli County, I found some interesting blocks. I’m inspired by the thickness and length of these angular materials which have been cut and discarded. After finely polishing the blocks, I painted some marking lines (just as I am extending lines when drawing certain objects) of cigarette packets and tin foil packages on them. The nature of the blocks is thereby retained, and so is the material nature of the wooden angular fixtures. Hence, the blocks are cast in a conflicting mode as to whether they can be viewed in a different identity.

In front of the three-section compound, there’s a square with a basketball stand. The low fence and the low gate surrounding it rendered it an obvious state of an inside region (designated). However, you couldn’t control the condition inside and the flowing and changing state created by the low fence and the low gate was evident, just like the Chinese medicinal herbs dried under the open sun, or a group of frolicking children who appeared today, but had not been seen yesterday.

I installed the blocks made at the square and extended lines of separation from them. The square was therefore a base constructed for painting. However, this is the extent of what the creator can control at the time, by throwing in certain contents and extending lines to separate them from other things at the square, and thereby, announcing it as “My Work”. However, he can’t prevent other things from intruding into the area, and he can’t even guarantee if the blocks installed there would be removed or not. After all, it’s not necessary to differentiate, what is the pure self and what is the other.
